Tampa to host Tax Collectors
conference
TAMPA, Fla. (Jan.
5, 2005) - Over 500 public and private leaders will descend on Tampa next week
as Hillsborough County hosts the annual state Tax Collectors Conference,
Hillsborough Tax Collector Doug Belden said today.
The conference,
scheduled for Sunday through Wednesday, will bring vendors from across the
nation as well as representatives from among Florida’s 67 counties to the
Marriott Waterside in downtown Tampa, said Belden, the current president of the
Florida Tax Collectors Association.
Speakers for the
conference include state Senate President Tom Lee; Lt. Gov. Toni Jennings; and
Outback Restaurants founder and Chief Executive Officer Chris Sullivan. In
addition, the event will hold seminars on a wide range of topics, including
technology, records management, revenue collection and motor vehicle regulations
and policies.
