Important Information about ID Cards for Children
As of October 1, 2006, Florida Statute 322.051 was amended to allow the issuance of a Florida State ID card to anyone five years of age and older. The child must come into the office to be photographed. Anyone may accompany the child, as a parent consent form is not needed.
The cost for an original ID card is $3.00. Lost or stolen ID cards can be replaced for $10.00. Please note there is an additional $5.25 service fee for all driver license transactions processed by the Tax Collector's office.
Two forms of ID are required for first time issuance. One of the following three (3) documents: 1. Original or certified US birth certificate, including territories and District of Columbia or 2. U S Passport or 3. Certificate of Naturalization
AND
a secondary document: Documents may include but are not limited to, the original or certified copy of one of the following: 1. Social Security Card or 2. U S Military dependent identification card and the child’s Social Security Number or 3. Baptismal certificate which shows date of birth and place of baptism and the child’s Social Security Number.
Florida State ID cards are available at State Drivers License offices or the Hillsborough County Tax Collector's Office at the following locations:
