New Driver License
Information
Effective October 1, 2008
Due to the Real ID Act the State of
Florida passed the following changes during the 2008 Florida Legislative
Session.
Renewal Period Changes:
For U.S. Citizens and Immigrants with
Permanent Legal Presence

Class E driver licenses for
customers under age 80 will be valid for 8 years. Class E licenses for
customers 80 and older will be valid for 6 years.

Commercial driver licenses (CDL),
Class A, B, or C, will be valid for 8 years except for customers 80 and older.
Licenses with a hazardous material endorsement will be valid for 4 years.

ID cards for children 5 through 14
years of age will be valid for 4 years. ID cards for customers 15 and older
will be valid for 8 years.
Fee Changes:
Note: There is an additional $5.25
service fee for transactions processed by the Tax Collector's office.

Tax Return

W-2 Form

Property Tax Statement

Pay Check

DD-214
-
School Record
-
All passports, permanent resident
cards, and employment authorization cards presented as proof of identification
or legal presence must be valid. Expired documents will not be
accepted.

Driver licenses or identification
cards issued by other states are no longer acceptable as primary
identification.
